NorthWest Student Exchange is interviewing for host families residing in the Walworth County Area for students who have applied for the 2011/12 school semester or term. NWSE is a non-profit student exchange organization, and we are dedicated to providing affordable exchange opportunities to American and international teenagers.  Our program participants come to us from a wide variety of countries. 

Our students are between 15 to 18 years of age.  They are very eager to learn about life while living with a family in the United States and attending high school here. Host families provide room and board and a safe, caring home for their exchange students.  Hosting an exchange student is an excellent opportunity to welcome a new family member, to share your own culture and values, and to enhance your family’s understanding of the culture and values of another country.

Most students remember their year in America as one of the best years of their lives.  They have the opportunity to make new friendships that will last a lifetime, and to gain insights that can only be acquired through this experience. 

And host families, too, benefit enormously.  One NWSE host wrote:

“We had an amazing year with our student from Japan , and I could never express in words how thankful I am that you have allowed us to host this child.  Not only were we a host family, we became family. You have allowed our family something very valuable...that neither myself nor my husband could ever provide [our two children].  We now have an amazingly strong bond with a wonderful young woman whom we now consider family.  Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, as I don't know if you can ever understand the power you have held in your hand for our family.  We now have a missing link to a country that we have grown to love with all our heart.”

NWSE students are very closely screened and oriented by professionals working in the country of origin, as well as by our US professional staff, before they are accepted to the program.  All students have good English skills, academic records, and strong motivation to succeed on the program.  They carry health and accident insurance and spending money for personal expenses.

Since 1987 NWSE has provided foreign and American students with excellent student exchange programs.
